Updates

Occasional notes on product availability, new releases, and technical info.

We’re a small U.S. business and we appreciate your support. New items will appear in the store as production capacity allows.

New Units

2026-03-24
New-Stock units are now generally available through the Ram-Shell Purchase page. Though stock is still a little limited, new products are being actively manufactured and will show up as available once they are completed and boxed.

Technical Document Error

2026-03-24
Part of the Technical Datasheet has been found to be out of date and will be updated as soon as possible. The outdated version has a date-stamp of 2026-01-19, the new one will include a section about changes.

Hull Replacement Progress

2026-03-21
Replacement of the Ram-Shell units from Aluminum-Polymer to Aluminum-Aluminum with a Polyolefin coating has proven to be a successful (see Ram-Shell Aluminum Hull Durability Test), though costly process. With the cost of raw materials up by 30% (there will be a newsletter addressing costs sometime over the next weeks), this decision did not come lightly - but it was the right thing to do and the only way to truly stand behind the product. I hope people appreciate it and continue to enjoy the product. Anyone that still has the original product should reach out for a replacement (and see the previous newsletters).

Hull Replacement

2026-03-11
Further testing and investigation have shown that hull breakage can occur for Level 3 Ramsets and higher and where there is excess pressure build-up or where the chamber of the shotgun is oversized.
This is an issue that we will correct for all prior (to today) customers as soon as time and production capabilities allow. Please look out for further communication via email about this within the next week. All current products are thus on sale but current stock will be reworked once a fix has been fully implemented and tested.

Hull breakage investigation

2026-03-05
Some early reports of hulls breaking have surfaced. It appears that the combination of the blue nylon projectiles together with a #4 ramset can cause the hull to crack more easily if more than 10 lb of force is applied to insert. Usually this means that the projectil is being pushed more than about 1/4in deep into the hull. This should be rare if the instructions are being followed. Similarly, for shotguns that have a loose bore (Turkish guns seem to be made that way), this can also be more common. Use of the orange rubber projectiles all but prevents this.

Initial release status

2026-03-03
The initial release of Ram-Shell products is going well - thank you for your support. Based on popular demand, additional products and accessories will gradually appear in the store as production capacity allows.

Backorders and fulfillment

2026-02-22
If an item is marked Backorder, you can still purchase it. We fulfill backorders as soon as possible, in the order received.
