Ram-Shell is designed for compatible standard 12-gauge shotguns. Each reusable cartridge body uses a .22 caliber power-tool blank as the internal power source and can be loaded with a compatible plastic or rubber training projectile.

Ram-Shell products are designed specifically for use in compatible standard shotguns. The reusable body remains a 12-gauge cartridge system; the .22 caliber blank is simply the internal power source that drives the training projectile.
Because the system uses commonly available powder-actuated-tool blanks instead of full-power shotgun ammunition, operating cost can be significantly reduced. The lower recoil also makes the system well suited for controlled drills, basic familiarization, and introductory training.
Ram-Shell is not intended to replace conventional ammunition in every role. Instead, it provides a different training tool — one that emphasizes repetition, reduced recoil, reloadability, and structured practice with a compatible projectile and a suitable backstop.
